VINTAGE STATION NORTH: Middle Tennessee’s First T.O.D.

Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Firm: Kimley-Horn | Role: Lead Landscape Architect | Years Active: 2018-2021 Project Status: Complete (2021) | Client: Imagine 1 Company

For Vintage Station North, I served as lead landscape architect from concept through construction administration on the Mid-South's first intentionally designed Transit-Oriented Development: a 6.9-acre, full mixed-use community adjacent to the Mt. Juliet rail station comprising 192 flats, 18 townhomes, retail, and office space. I worked closely with a multi-disciplinary team of architects, civil engineers, and the developer to integrate the landscape with the project's dense residential and commercial program, including a resort-style pool and cabana courtyard, rooftop lounge, and pedestrian connections linking the development to the surrounding downtown. Over the course of a four-year approval and design process, including multiple design charrettes and community meetings, I led client and stakeholder reviews to align the landscape design with the public approval process, carrying the work through construction documentation and on-site construction administration to realize what has become a cornerstone of the city's new downtown.
